(SOUTHFIELD, Mich., Feb. 5, 2019) ― HOUSTEX, the Southwest’s leading manufacturing trade show, once again returns to Houston, Feb. 26-28, at the George R. Brown Convention Center. The show will bring an exciting mix of manufacturing products, services, and intel highlighting the latest advanced technologies and processes that are disrupting industrial sectors important in the Gulf Region and helping manufacturers prepare and reshape their enterprises.
From oil, gas and energy to biomedical to aircraft/aerospace, disruptive manufacturing technologies – like automation, 3D printing/additive manufacturing, robotics and the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) – are changing the status quo and making way for immense economic growth, innovation and market competitiveness. These technologies – and more – are shaping manufacturing’s future, and over 5,000 HOUSTEX attendees will have an opportunity to explore them firsthand.
HOUSTEX, presented by SME and AMT, The Association For Manufacturing Technology, will feature current technologies and trends along with hands-on demonstrations. Attendees will have the chance to network with peers and hear from industry experts who will share best practices on enabling change to stay competitive in the market. Other key elements will include exhibits, workshops, seminars and keynote presentations from influencers in the manufacturing sector: Mikhail Gladkikh, PhD, additive manufacturing supply chain leader, Baker Hughes, a GE Co.; Matt Tyler, president/CEO, Vickers Engineering; and Corey Carolla, vice president of corporate development, Red Rabbit Automation. HOUSTEX will also include educational sessions where professionals can explore topics on Additive Manufacturing Applications and Deploying a Starter Kata, while youth participate in the Student Summit and a 3D Printing Competition.
The sold-out show floor will feature some of the region’s most progressive manufacturing companies such as Behringer Saws, Greenleaf Corp., BIG KAISER Precision Tooling Inc. and Yamazen. These and other exhibitors will demonstrate the latest products and technologies impacting Industry 4.0.
“As the manufacturing industry evolves, there is a need for manufacturers to adopt innovative technologies that are being used to create factories of the future,” said Chris Kaiser, president/CEO, BIG KAISER Precision Tooling Inc. “Exhibiting at HOUSTEX allows us to engage with manufacturers, suppliers and other vendors looking to improve productivity, profitability and quality — today and into the future.”
Since 1980, HOUSTEX has biannually highlighted and featured the machines and technology vital to the Southwest’s leading industries. HOUSTEX 2019 will feature more than 65,000 feet of exhibit space and more than 250 exhibiting companies. Of the more than 5,000 attendees, 76 percent have a role in purchasing decisions, with 31 percent having manufacturing equipment budgets of more than $200,000.
“HOUSTEX continues to be the Gulf region’s premiere manufacturing trade show, promoting state-of-the-art products and convening the best and brightest minds in the industry,” said Cathy Kowalewicz, HOUSTEX event manager. “For 2019, the show will highlight a full range of solutions that will help manufacturer’s meet business and customer demands.”
